Why does this look completely unrelated to the first

Hey where does the last poem of shape of water by giles come to avatar. Only lovers left alive is one of the best movies I've seen. And the soundtrack is awesome. 2:09 when you realize that wet fart came with an unwanted bonus😂. Ok so the first place they messed up is they essentially did the exact same setup as the first movie, four girls, one black girl, high school set up, girls gets bullied, becomes a witch. The only difference is that the main girl now uses her power for evil. I guess processed by the powers of Nancy? Sigh There are so many ways they could made this an interesting reboot or sequel. Maybe have the main character be Sarah from the first movies daughter? Or set in the same town where the story of the girl and Nancys demise is a rumor of the town and a cult group worships Nancy and reeks havoc on the city. Or someone whos a good witch at first and gets overcome with black magic or have one the witches from the first film own an occult shop in the city who advises young witches? Idk I mean they could have really expanded on the first movie and made something new and modern for the time and also nostalgic for the original movie fans. And if this is a reboot, why? The movie is not THAT old and its still widely available. But I digress 🤷🏾‍♀️.
